Journey Behind the Coffee

About the Producer/Farm

This Geisha is produced by Jhoan Vergara in Acevedo, Huila, one of Colombia's most celebrated coffee-growing regions. Cultivated at 1,750 meters above sea level, the farm benefits from an environment well suited for producing coffees with exceptional clarity and elegance.

Jhoan focuses on bringing out the distinctive qualities of each variety through careful cultivation and post-harvest practices. This lot is processed using the natural method, allowing the coffee cherries to dry with the fruit intact. The extended contact between the bean and the cherry encourages greater sweetness and complexity while preserving the delicate floral character that makes Geisha so remarkable.

Region / Terroir

Located in Acevedo, Huila, this coffee is shaped by high elevations, fertile soils, and a temperate mountain climate that supports slow cherry maturation. These growing conditions encourage the development of refined acidity, layered sweetness, and expressive aromatics.

Originally tracing its roots to the forests of Gesha, Ethiopia, the Geisha variety has become one of the world's most celebrated coffees for its remarkable elegance and complexity. In the mountains of Huila, the variety finds a new expression—showcasing a vibrant cup with notes of orange juice, strawberry jam, and rose. The result is a beautifully balanced coffee with a fragrant floral bouquet and a refined sweetness that lingers long after each sip.
