About the Producer/Farm
This coffee is produced by around 900 smallholder farmers who deliver their cherries to the Kiandieri Washing Station, part of the Inoi Farmers Cooperative Society. Working collectively allows these small-scale producers to centralize processing and maintain consistency across the lot.
Farmers cultivate a mix of SL 28, SL 34, Batian, and Ruiru 11, while incorporating coffee pulp and cow manure as natural fertilizers. After harvest, the coffee is fully washed and sun-dried on raised African beds, resulting in a clean and fruit-forward cup.
Region / Terroir
Kirinyaga lies on the foothills of Mount Kenya, one of the country's renowned coffee-growing areas. Farms supplying this lot reach elevations of up to 1,800 MASL and benefit from the region's fertile clay loam soils.
These high-elevation growing conditions, combined with careful washed processing, contribute to the coffee's vibrant and clean character, with a juicy profile of plum, red fruit, and cranberry.
